Our teams have built up a wealth of experience in the treatment of structural and cosmetic damage caused by subsidence. Subsidence has many causes and requires expert knowledge to investigate and diagnose. Our operatives may be assisting an engineer in their investigations at an early stage. This might include the excavation of trial holes to establish foundation depth and type and the nature of the soils supporting them or establishing the location and condition of services in the vicinity. Or it might be that an engineer or surveyor needs an area of the building structure opened up to allow a full understanding of the building materials and techniques employed and the impact subsidence may have on them.
Once the true extent of the damage and cause is known the technical consultant will specify the actions necessary to mitigate the cause of damage. This may be the repair of damaged drains, the removal of a tree whose roots are affecting the soils below foundation level or the stabilisation of soils disturbed by landslip or other features or influences.
Our operatives are aware of the common causes of building movement and understand the process of diagnosis, mitigation and treatment of damage. This allows them to feedback information required to assist in the process as new evidence comes to light at whatever stage.
When it comes to the repair our operatives are trained in the techniques employed to restore structural stability. These range from the many different types of masonry and crack repair techniques available dependent on the nature and extent of building material and damage, to advanced techniques of re-supporting building loads through reinforcement underpinning and piling.
With all these techniques available to us from our in house teams we are confident that the operatives we send to your property will provide you with the required repair to the correct specification and will be sensitive to your own requirements to have the works completed efficiently and with as little disruption as possible.
